Under pressure not to march in Trump inaugural parade, historically black Talladega College needs our support
The Talladega College Marching band needs our financial help, because they have been caught in the middle of the false anti-Trump crap.
Talladega is a historically black college, and it was invited by the Inaugural Committee to participate in the upcoming Inaugural Parade. Should they do so? College President Billy Hawkins doesn’t even think it’s a difficult question.
“The inauguration of a new president is not a political event, but a civil ceremony celebrating the transfer of power,” Hawkins said.
So yes. Hawkins has issued a statement saying the Talladega College marching band is marching in the inaugural parade! And boy oh boy, has that started a ruckus among the Trump-hating left.
The inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence is not a political event, nor does it represent the promotion of a political agenda.
That's where Democrats and liberals just don't get it.
And black people! Stop being fooled by those loud black voices who are misleading you. Worse yet, they want you to poison the minds of some young black college students.
Divisiveness has to be taught, and it’s learned from people like those protesting against a black college marching band participating in a presidential parade. If any school had refused to participate in President Obama's inaugural parade eight years ago because he was black, they would have been called racist.
Trying to intimidate a historically black college to not participate in the Trump inaugural parade is equally racist. And they’re not engaging in this intimidation because Trump is white. They’re doing it because they know Trump might be right about the failed policies of the Obama presidency.
Commendations to Talladega College and President Hawkins for separating politics from ceremony, and for not allowing illogical and irrational attitudes to stop a group of young people from a learning experience.
I have contributed to their GoFundMe page. I hope you’ll join me and do the same. They deserve our support.
