House Majority Whip Steve Scalise shot at Republican baseball practice in Virginia
Shooter dead, per Mike Lee.
This is still developing so we'll update as we can.
From Fox News:
House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was shot in the hip and multiple Congressional aides were hit by a gunman with a rifle who opened fire at a baseball practice in Virginia Wednesday morning, Fox News confirmed.
At least one aide was shot in the chest.
The gunman was shot by U.S. Capital Police, apprehended and taken to the hospital. Sen. Mike Lee told Fox News, however, the gunman was dead. Rep. Mo Brooks reportedly used a belt as a tourniquet to stop Scalise's bleeding.
No word on the identity of the shooter yet, or any motive.
Rob says Rand Paul made an interesting observation on MSNBC: The presence of Scalise, a member of the House leadership, meant Capitol Police were present. That probably saved a lot of people's lives, and apparently doomed that of the shooter.
We'll have more as we get it.
UPDATE (Dan): Congressman Roger Williams was also shot. No word on his condition.
UPDATE (Dan): Alabama.com reports that as many as 50 shots were fired, although it doesn't specify if they were all from the shooter or if some were from the police. They also say two cops were shot in addition to the two congressmen and their aides.
UPDATE (Dan): Per Hot Air and Jazz Shaw, the shooter apparently asked Rep. Ron DeSantis in the parking lot if those were Republicans or Democrats playing. Three minutes later the shooting began. Update on this: Serious questions have been raised about whether this guy was actually the shooter.
UPDATE (Rob): Daily Caller White House Correspondent tweets that GWU Hospital has received two injured parties, both in "critical condition." This contradicts other sources saying they're "stable."

UPDATE: (Rob) Here's the full statement on Scalise. Still not seeing anything about Williams.
UPDATE (Dan): Steve Scalise was left lying on the field for several minutes after being shot, his colleagues unable to get to him because of the shooter:
Sen. Jeff Flake: Scalise "laid out there for at least 10 minutes, alone in the field. We couldn't get to him while there were shots." pic.twitter.com/P5Wo8elbNc— Washington Examiner (@dcexaminer) June 14, 2017
